Provided support to the purchasing manager in developing and implementing purchasing strategies, including market research to find cost-effective options, negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors, managing and building vendor relationships, assisting in budget management and tracking expenses, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Coordinate with sales and assembly departments, update inventory status and ensure that stock levels are at appropriate levels.
Evaluate stock received and if there is any discrepancy or issue escalate to suppliers and management.
Process purchase requisitions and update management on status of orders.
Analyze market trends, data regarding past and future purchases and use the data to help guide purchase decisions.
One of my notable accomplishments using Excel was implementing a new tracking system for our company's non-stock inventory (material for the warehouse, assembly and marketing departments). I created a comprehensive Excel spreadsheet that allowed us to track inventory levels, reorder points, and supplier information in real-time. This not only saved our team time of manual data entry, but it also improved the accuracy of our inventory records. As a result, we were able to reduce stock-outs and overstocks, leading to cost savings and improved efficiency in our supply chain. The success of this project was instrumental in streamlining our inventory management processes.
